Senior Year:
The very last year of high school. Where student pull pranks, skip, have prom, and graduation. Last chance to not care before stepping out into the real world. Last homecomings. Last chance to play sports for some of us. Last chance to show people who you are. The year where you go all out.The seniors plan their senior skip day for every month.
On March 13, 2020 Mr. Abate announced on the loudspeaker that we will be starting online schooling for two weeks. When I first heard this I was filled with excitement. Two weeks was great! I would get to catch up on some sleep, let my leg heal, and just relax. All those thoughts were wrong. Two weeks has now turned into longer, not knowing when we will be going back. Everything is now hitting, and starting to become a reality. The reality that everything I was waiting to experience during my senior year, I won't be able to experience. I know for myself I can say this pandemic has definitely impacted me at the moment. It is honestly so hard to even put into words, because who would've thought that this would ever happen. Besides feeling overwhelmed with emotions about my last year, online schooling has taught me a lot. For one thing it definitely taught me how to manage time better. My family and I have taken this with precaution. AJ came home two weeks ago, and is now finishing the rest of his school year online. My mom is working from home, and my dad, due to the fact that he also works in a school, is not working. This is obviously scary because we still need our necessities, but we will make it through it just like everything else. Sadden, and shocked I miss my teachers, my classmates, and even PV. I miss the routine of everyday even though I would dread it. If I had one thing to say to the juniors, sophomores, and freshman, is that enjoy high school, even though you say you hate it, you don't. Enjoy it because you never know what could happen.
